Intermec's 1620 is capable of scanning bar code up to 25 inches away. It's powerful helium-neon beam provides a superior depth of field that allows labels on curved or uneven surfaces (even behind glass) to be scanned. The unit is very rugged and can withstand repeated three-foot drops onto concrete. The optional protective cover adds an extra measure of resistance against physical abuse, moisture and grime.
Intermec's 1621 laser scanner is the scanning device recommended for very high density bar code labels such as those produced by Intermec's 8404D printer (14.7 charaters per inch). Coupled with Intermec's on-line readers and portable transaction manager, the 1621 scans the 4.4 mil bar code produced by the 8404D.
Options for hands-free scanning include the adjustable arm stand with it's foot switch and the intelligent document stand. The hoster and desk stand provide storage alternatives.
