The 4980 Network Controller is a key component of the 4000 Series Communications Network. It is designed to provide a flexible interface between many host computers and hand-held computers.
This device can control up to 72 local hand-held computers. It is also able to directly charge and power up to twenty-four 4000 Series hand-held computers. Additional features include: enough memory available to hold hand-held applications for download, a 3.5 inch floppy disk drive for software uploads and upgrades, 4 configurable communications ports , and an Autoanswer/autodial modem support.
