The Intermec 6985 Network Manager provides a flexible interface between remote mobile computers and enterprise computing systems. The Microsoft Windows CE-based Intermec 6985 provides superior connectivity and fast data transmission for improved file transfer, system application version control and broadcast file distribution.
Communication time with remote users is reduced, lowering system operation costs and errors while improving decision-making capabilities of everyone along the information flow. The 6985 permits system administrators to remotely configure, implement and manage industrial mobile computer networks using standard web-based tools (browsers, HTTP and FTP clients). Systems administrators can configure and manage the network from any location using their IP Ethernet LAN and WAN.
The 6985 Network Manager allows for easy migration from current Intermec 4980 and 4985 controllers without changes to mobile computer applications. It also offers backward capability with existing applications. The 6985 features an AMDŽ SC 400 processor, 8MB of RAM, up to 4MB of available storage via compact flash cards and supports an unlimited number of mobile computers. A rugged design and no moving parts provide reliable operation in remote unattended environments. The 6985 supports one RS-232 host port and one RS-485 network connector for multi-docks. It also supports IrDA for diagnostics/configuration.
