Intermec's MobileLAN card 11 is an Intermec-developed, IEEE 802.11b high-rate network interface card with an integrated antenna. The card equips mobile computers and wireless access points to communicate with a wireless LAN. Card 11 meets 802.11b standards and is Wi-Fi! certified, so it works in existing 802.11b access points, radios, and 802.11b-enabled mobile computers. It is compatible with most Windows® operating systems.
FAST
Fast connection at 11 Mbps means mobile workers can use time more productively than waiting for a connection or for data transfer. The 11 Mbps data rate rivals the speed of costly T1 wired hookups, and is adequate for data transfer, as opposed to graphics or video.
SECURE
MobileLAN card 11 is enabled with 128-bit Wired Equivalent Privacy for data encryption, which is one important provision for the security of the wireless link between clients and access points.
EASY TO INSTALL AND USE
Card 11 ships with a getting startedguide, a configuration utility that makes client setup easy, and a CD-ROM with documentation and software. Further software upgrades are available on the Internet. Card 11 installs in minutes and supports Windows 9X, 2000, ME and NT. COST EFFECTIVE
Compared to other NIC cards, MobileLAN card 11 is a higher value at a lower price point. The MMX antenna connector is not easily damaged while inserting an external antenna, unlike some proprietary connectors. It fully meets standards and protects existing and future hardware investments.
INSIDE CARD 11
MobileLAN card 11 uses Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum technology which provides secure, interference-resistant wireless connections. The card has an integrated diversity patch antenna, and is available in two configurations, FCC and ETSI. While Card 11 is designed to work in any off-the-shelf PCI adapter, Intermec warrants optimum performance with the MobileLAN accessory PCI adapter.
