This card is manufactured for Intermec by Proxim. The Proxim RangeLAN2 PCMCIA Type II Wireless LAN Adapter provides connectivity to the Norand Open Wireless LAN(OWL) Architecture. As part of the media independence approach for the backbone architecture, the RangeLAN2 PCMCIA Type II 2.4 GHz radio is a high performance wireless adapter for computers (desktop or mobile) that have a PCMCIA Type II slot.
The RangeLAN2 PCMCIA radio is based on frequency hopping spread spectrum technology in the 2.4 - 2.483 GHz band. With an uncompressed data rate of 1.6 Mbps, it is ideal for mobile computers in wireless LAN environments.
