The SP-202 Indented bar code marker is a dual pin, computer-controlled marking system for indenting barcodes and corresponding alpha-numeric characters into the surface of parts or products. This creates a permanent identification mark that lasts the lifetime of the product. The SP-202 permanently marks a variety of materials, including wood, metal, plastics, carbon, and composites.
It consists of a computer control center with data input terminal, a dot matrix marking head and two linear actuators, which provide Y and X motion. The barcode dot-matrix markings can be in patterns of 5x7, 7x9, 13x17, and 26x34 dots. Character size rangers for 1/8" to ¼", and a maximum of 16 to 32 characters per line based on size. It will work on surfaces that vary as much as ½ inch. I t is not necessary to have a smooth machined marking surface.
