Microscan's series 5000 multidrop concentrator collects data a high-speed over an RS-485 multidrop network from up to 50 devices, including scanners, decoders, or bar-code labelprinters.
Several concentrators can also be cascaded to poll more than 50 devices. The series 5000 makes it simple to integrate a network of Microscan bar-code scanning equipment with a host computer.
It offers high-speed communication up to 38.4K baud over the multidrop network and with the host computer. Direct, continual polling of the device network, using standard RS-485 multidrop protocols or polling mode D. There is direct terminal hookup through auxiliary port for convenient access to configuration menus and current status of devices on the network.
