As the world's most popular portable, rugged printer, the 2i quickly prints both standard receipts, bar coded receipts. It is so small, light and durable, it can be easily taken anywhere when hooked to the belt of your field representative. It activates when the computer sends data and goes back to sleep automatically after the transaction, saving battery life. In addition, thanks to the printer's internal memory buffer, you never have to wait for a receipt to finish printing before performing other tasks.
It can print up to 1.7 lines paper per second because it uses an integrated 16-bit microprocessor that stores your printing format -- including graphics and logos -- on board, and only changes variable data when you want to print. Because the 2i is a "softprinter"-- a printer that can be easily configured to your specifications through software -- it will never become obsolete.
Because the 2i is equipped with nonvolatile flash memory, you don't ever have to worry that the configuration will be lost -- even if the battery is removed. The 2i comes standard with IrDA-compliant wireless infrared communications technology which allows data to be sent from a hand-held computer to the printer from a distance of up to three feet (one meter) away without any cumbersome cords, wires or cables to get tangled.
The 2i is so power-efficient it will easily outlast the typical eight-hour shift on a single charge. The NiMH battery will print a six-inch receipt every minute for over 6 1/2 hours (over 2400 inches)! Recharging is easy with the standard internal charger. Recharge the printer on the go without removing the battery, using a standard cigarette lighter or AC adapter.
While the 2i weighs only 20.8 ounces (590g) and fits in the palm of your hand, it can operate in the most rugged of applications. Built with a resilient plastic housing to protect it from heavy impact, the 2i can withstand a five-foot drop to concrete without damage. And, all of this strength is enclosed in a small design which features rounded edges that won't cut or snag while clipped onto the belt of your sales, delivery, or repair-person.
