Laser Scanning Performance in a Compact Pen Design
The QuickScan Pen™ scanner utilizes high performance laser scanning optics in a small, ergonomic pen design. As a result, the scanner provides the broadest operating range and fastest speed to read available in a pen or wand shaped bar code reader. It frees users to read UPC (100%) labels as close as 3 inches (7.6 cm) and up to 11 inches (27.9 cm) away. In addition, QuickScan Pen users are much more efficient than contact wand users because they do not have to manually pass the reader over the bar code.
Innovation Meets Versatility
The unique features of the QuickScan Pen enable it to excel in a variety of applications. The scanner is right at home in electronics manufacturing applications where touching products can lead to static discharge and where bench space is at a premium. It is also ideal for medical record automation and route accounting.
With the optional touch-screen stylus tip, the QuickScan Pen scanner pulls double duty for solutions utilizing both touch-screen monitors and bar codes. Users can scan a bar code and use the scanner as a touch-screen-pointing device, without ever needing a separate stylus.
Additionally, the QuickScan Pen features a strong plastic enclosure that withstands rough use. The enclosure assembly also guards against liquid and dust infiltration.
Lightweight & Ergonomic For Maximum Scanning Ease
The QuickScan Pen was developed with the users comfort in mind - a critical factor that ensures prolonged operator productivity and intuitive ease of use for the occasional user. The scanner's 0.8 oz. (22 g) weight is evenly balanced and makes holding the scanner, in either hand, comfortable for extended periods of time. Scanning is initiated by simply tapping the index finger over the trigger.
Decoding For Any Application
The QuickScan Pen reads all major bar code symbologies and auto-discriminates up to 6 codes. In addition, it fully supports the UPC/EAN family of add-ons and code extensions. It is currently available in undecoded and RS232 versions.
