Rugged, Compact Design
The MSR 3000 delivers exceptional functionality and value in the smallest possible package. The unit is compact enough to attach directly to the SPT 1700 and PPT 2700 without compromising the computer's ergonomic form factor. In fact the MSR 3000 adds just an inch and a quarter to the overall length of the SPT 1700. In addition, the reader is weather-resistant and able to withstand a 4 ft/1.2 m drop to concrete.
Magnetic Stripe Card Capability
The MSR 3000 reads one, two or three tracks of information with a single swipe in either direction. Its 77mm-length slot makes it compact, yet easy to use. Cards with magnetic stripes containing up to three tracks of data can be read, decoded, and edited. The MSR 3000 can be programmed to divide, rearrange, edit, and validate fields of entered data. The data is decoded, and the reader is able to edit the data, as well as add preambles or postambles, before outputting it to the SPT 1700 /PPT 2700.
